Katie Calkins has been the of the Doheny Longboard Surfing Association for over 40 years, and 35 of those years she has been the team captain and winning leader.

To celebrate this milestone, club member and fellow team rider, Gabriel Fimbres, commissioned me to make this 29” x 6” x 0.75” mini log trophy.

This board was an awesome opportunity and a real test of glassing skills, seeing how it is such a small area and so light in weight.

Gabriel wanted the board painted in the same blue color as Katie’s real-life surfboard, and Art Supply Warehouse in Westminster had just what we needed.
